The successful operation of the Stouffville Skating Club relies on the dedication of volunteers who take on essential roles and responsibilities to support club operations and help deliver quality programs and experiences for our skaters.
Positions
Please consider getting involved with the club in one or more of the following roles:
Coach Liaison
Serves as the primary point of communication between the club and coaching staff. This role is responsible for preparing coaching contracts, managing the coaching team, and leading the recruitment, interview, and hiring process for new coaches.
Event Coordinator
Works with the Board, coaches, and volunteers to plan and organize club events throughout the skating year, including skating events such as the Winter Showcase and community or social events like the Santa Claus Parade and year-end banquet.
Fundraising & Sponsorship Committee
Supports club programming by organizing fundraising initiatives and seeking sponsors for major events such as the Ice Show.
Social Media Coordinator
Ensures a consistent and timely updates across the club’s social media platforms to keep members informed and share important club information.
Marketing Coordinator
Coordinates advertising and outreach initiatives to support club programs, registration, and events. Creates flyers, posters, banners, and other promotional materials while working with community partners to increase club visibility.
Test Chair
Organizes the club's three Star 6 to Gold Test Days and manages test results for all skaters completing tests from Star 1 through Gold.
Town Liaison
Serves as the primary point of contact between the club and the Town. Represents the club at the annual Ice Meeting, manages ice permits, and provides approved invoices to the Treasurer for payment.
Program Assistant Coordinator
Coordinates PA training, scheduling, and program management throughout the year.
Volunteer Coordinator
Recruits, organizes, and supports volunteers throughout the skating season. Coordinates volunteer needs for club programs, events, and activities, and works with board members to ensure adequate volunteer coverage.
Website Administrator
Maintains and updates the club website by adding new content, ensuring information is current, and supporting ongoing improvements to the site.
Refundable Volunteer Fee
To encourage sufficient volunteer participation in 2026-2027, the club has needed to implement a volunteer surcharge during program registration. This surcharge will be added once per family to your invoice during registration. It will be refunded in full once you volunteer with club.
Participation in any of the volunteer roles will allow the refund of the volunteer surcharge that was added to your invoice.
